Ibrahim Mahama Donates GH₵100,000 as Mahama, NDC Leaders Visit Volta Region to Support Tidal Wave Victims
In a remarkable display of solidarity and compassion, business mogul Ibrahim Mahama has donated GH₵100,000 to assist victims affected by the recent tidal waves in the Volta Region. This generous contribution was made during a visit by former President John Dramani Mahama and other high-ranking members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to assess the impact of the disaster and provide relief to affected communities.
The tidal waves, which ravaged several coastal communities, displaced hundreds of residents, leaving many without shelter and basic necessities. Recognizing the urgent need for assistance, Ibrahim Mahama, the CEO of Engineers & Planners, extended financial support to aid in the rehabilitation efforts.
During the visit, former President John Mahama expressed deep concern over the plight of the victims and called for swift government intervention to implement long-term solutions, including the completion of the Blekusu Sea Defence Project. He emphasized that the recurrence of tidal waves has left many coastal communities vulnerable and that immediate action is necessary to prevent future devastations.
In addition to Ibrahim Mahama’s donation, NDC stalwarts, including party executives and Members of Parliament, also provided essential relief items such as food, water, and temporary shelter materials to support the displaced families.

Many have urged the government to expedite efforts to complete the sea defense project, which they believe is crucial in preventing future occurrences.
