Kofi Amoah Urges Genuine Reflection on Ghana's 68th Independence Anniversary

In a message shared on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Dr. Amoah stated: "Dearest Ghanaians, How I wish I could join in with expressions of happiness on Ghana’s day of so-called Independence. I’m not happy and neither is Ghana and the majority of Ghanaians. So, let’s stop pretending and start performing."

He emphasized the importance of setting realistic goals and focusing on tangible outcomes that can improve the lives of all citizens, particularly the youth. Dr. Amoah highlighted the need for job creation and economic opportunities, urging leaders to prioritize initiatives that lead to sustainable development.

"Let’s stop promising what cannot be accomplished and start sowing seeds of real hopes of good paying JOBS for everybody able to work, educated or uneducated, boys and girls in the cities, towns, and villages," he added.

Dr. Amoah's sentiments reflect a broader call for introspection and action. He has consistently advocated for leveraging Ghana's rich resources and talent to foster economic growth and self-reliance. In previous discussions, he cautioned against over-reliance on external assistance and emphasized the importance of homegrown solutions to the nation's challenges.

The 68th Independence Anniversary presents an opportunity for Ghanaians to come together, reassess priorities, and commit to actions that will drive the nation toward sustainable development and genuine happiness.
