GJA Volta Region Elects New Executives to Lead Regional Chapter

Ho, Volta Region – The Volta Regional chapter of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has elected new regional executives following a successful and peaceful election process.

The newly elected team is expected to lead the association in the region for the next term, focusing on the welfare of journalists, press freedom advocacy, capacity-building initiatives, and stronger engagement between the media and local stakeholders.

Elected to the leadership positions were:

The election, which drew participation from practicing journalists across the region, was supervised by the national GJA Electoral Committee and observed by local media stakeholders and civil society representatives.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman thanked members for the confidence reposed in the new team and pledged to ensure unity, professionalism, and capacity development across the media landscape in the Volta Region.

“Our goal is to build a stronger, more united GJA in the region and to promote ethical journalism that contributes meaningfully to our democratic journey,” he said.

Outgoing executives were also commended for their dedicated service and contributions to advancing journalism in the region, particularly in the face of economic and political challenges.

The GJA national office has congratulated the new regional executives and assured them of its full support in the execution of their mandate.
