National Integrity Awards a Response to Demand for Honest Leadership – Speaker Bagbin
Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, says the National Integrity Awards Scheme reflects the national yearning for ethical, transparent leadership. He emphasized its role in celebrating individuals who uphold integrity in public and private life.

Accra, Ghana –
The Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has praised the National Integrity Awards Scheme as a bold and much-needed response to Ghanaians' call for credible and honest leadership.
Speaking at the launch of the awards in Accra, Bagbin stated that the growing distrust in political and institutional leadership has made it necessary to spotlight individuals who consistently demonstrate integrity, accountability, and transparency.
“In a time when trust in leadership is waning, the National Integrity Awards remind us that Ghana still has men and women committed to principles, to truth, and to the public good,” he declared.
The awards scheme, initiated by the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), aims to recognize citizens who go above and beyond to uphold integrity in public service, the private sector, civil society, and community life.
Bagbin emphasized that such recognition helps build a culture of ethical behavior, especially among the youth, and serves as a benchmark for the nation’s broader development aspirations.
He also urged institutions to adopt integrity as a core operational value, noting that without trust, no democracy or economy can flourish.
The Speaker’s remarks come at a time when corruption remains a significant concern for many Ghanaians, with frequent calls for reforms in public accountability and transparency mechanisms.
The National Integrity Awards, now gaining traction as a flagship anti-corruption initiative, are expected to be held annually, with categories spanning various sectors of national life.
