What President Mahama said about Saglemi Housing project in 2025 SONA
In his 2025 State of the Nation Address, President John Dramani Mahama reaffirmed his administration's commitment to addressing Ghana's housing deficit by prioritizing the completion of the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project. He emphasized that his government is dedicated to finalizing all ongoing housing initiatives, starting with Saglemi, to provide affordable housing solutions for Ghanaians.

President Mahama also announced plans to implement a low-cost Social Housing Project, supported by a District Housing Scheme. This initiative aims to eliminate financial barriers to homeownership, enabling workers in both the public and private sectors to acquire homes with payments structured over time.
Addressing previous concerns, President Mahama criticized the former government's decision to transfer the Saglemi Housing Project to private developers without consulting the original landowners from Ningo-Prampram. He emphasized the importance of involving allodial landowners in such decisions and pledged that his administration would review any agreements made without proper consultations.
By focusing on these initiatives, President Mahama aims to enhance affordable housing availability and ensure that development projects are conducted transparently and inclusively, respecting the rights and interests of local communities.
