All Supreme Court nominees demonstrated outstanding competence, deep knowledge of the law – Ahiafor
Member of Parliament for Akatsi South, Bernard Ahiafor, has commended all recent Supreme Court nominees, praising their exceptional legal knowledge and professional integrity. Speaking during the vetting process, Ahiafor emphasized that each nominee exhibited remarkable understanding of the law, reinforcing confidence in Ghana's judicial system.
Accra, Ghana – Bernard Ahiafor, the Member of Parliament for Akatsi South and a ranking member of the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee, has hailed the performance of Supreme Court nominees vetted by Parliament as exemplary.
According to Mr. Ahiafor, all the nominees demonstrated "outstanding competence and deep knowledge of the law" during their vetting process, reinforcing the public’s trust in the judiciary.
Speaking to the media after the vetting session, Ahiafor stated:
“The nominees’ responses to legal, constitutional, and human rights matters were not only profound but also reflective of their years of experience and commitment to justice. As a lawyer myself, I was impressed by their clarity of thought and principled understanding of the law.”
He also noted that the unanimous display of judicial temperament and ethical conduct by the nominees bodes well for the future of Ghana’s highest court. Ahiafor urged Ghanaians to support the work of the judiciary and remain hopeful that the calibre of judges being appointed will help strengthen democratic governance and constitutional rule.
The Parliament of Ghana is expected to debate and approve the nominees following the conclusion of the vetting process.
