Ghana Immigration Service Cautions Public Against Fake Recruitment Portal
The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) warns job seekers to beware of a fraudulent recruitment portal impersonating the official platform.

GIS Issues Public Alert Over Fake Online Recruitment Scam
The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has issued a strong warning to the general public regarding a fake recruitment portal that is currently circulating online and deceiving unsuspecting job seekers.
According to a press statement released by the Service, fraudsters have cloned the GIS website and are luring desperate applicants with promises of job placement—charging illegal fees in the process.
⚠️ Beware of Fraudsters
The fake portal, which mimics the look of the official GIS site, has already tricked several individuals into submitting personal information and making mobile money payments for so-called “processing” or “protocol” access.
The GIS clarified that all official recruitment processes are conducted solely through the Service’s official channels, and it does not charge any fees for application forms or recruitment steps.
“We urge the public to disregard any unofficial links and avoid dealing with unauthorized persons claiming to offer recruitment slots,” the statement said.
✅ What to Do
The GIS is encouraging Ghanaians to:
-
Visit the official GIS website for legitimate recruitment updates: www.gis.gov.gh
-
Report suspicious websites, contacts, or persons to the nearest police station or GIS office
-
Avoid paying money to individuals claiming to have recruitment connections
???? Public Reaction
