Dr. Arthur Kennedy Accuses Bawumia of Being ‘Unprincipled and Ungrateful’

Ghanaian physician and political analyst Dr. Arthur Kennedy has launched a sharp criticism at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as “unprincipled and ungrateful.” In a recent statement that has sparked heated debates across political platforms, Dr. Kennedy questioned Bawumia’s consistency and loyalty within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to Dr. Kennedy, Bawumia’s political conduct over the years has been driven more by personal ambition than a commitment to principle or the ideals of the party. He accused the Vice President of switching positions on key national issues, aligning himself with power structures for convenience rather than ideology.

“Dr. Bawumia has shown a pattern of behavior that raises questions about his integrity and gratitude to those who brought him into the political limelight,” Dr. Kennedy stated.

Dr. Kennedy, a founding member of the NPP who once ran for the party’s presidential nomination, did not mince words as he highlighted what he termed a “lack of loyalty” from the Vice President. He argued that Bawumia’s political rise was facilitated by individuals within the party whom he has since distanced himself from or outrightly opposed.

This is not the first time Dr. Kennedy has criticized top figures within his party. However, this latest statement comes at a crucial time as Ghana heads into the 2024 general elections, where Bawumia is expected to play a central role in the NPP’s campaign efforts.

Political observers suggest that the growing dissent within the party, as exemplified by Dr. Kennedy’s comments, could impact the NPP's unity and performance in the upcoming elections.

As the political atmosphere intensifies, all eyes will be on how Dr. Bawumia and the NPP leadership respond to these criticisms—and whether the party can maintain internal cohesion in the face of such public allegations.
