Ghana Premier League: Approved and Unapproved Venues for Upcoming Season

The following venues have been granted full approval to host GPL matches, having met all necessary criteria:

  • TNA Stadium: Located in Tarkwa, this stadium is the home ground of Medeama SC.

  • Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex: Situated in Abrankese, it serves as the home for Nations FC.

  • DUN's Park: Based in Bibiani, this is the home venue for Bibiani Gold Stars.

  • Nsekyire Sports Arena: Located in Samreboi, it is the home ground for Samartex FC.

  • Kpando Sports Stadium: Situated in Kpando, it serves as the home for Heart of Lions.

These venues have been deemed fit, providing an even playing field and a secure environment for players and spectators alike.

Conditionally Approved Venues:

Several venues have received conditional approval, contingent upon addressing specific deficiencies identified during inspections:

  • Nii Adjei Kraku Park: Home to Tema Youth FC, this venue requires improvements to meet full approval standards.

  • Tuba Astro Turf: Used by some clubs in the Greater Accra Region, it needs upgrades to comply with GFA requirements.

  • Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium: Located in Tamale, serving as the home ground for Real Tamale United, it requires certain enhancements.

  • Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park: Based in Bechem, home to Bechem United, it needs specific improvements.

  • Nana Agyemang Badu Park: Located in Dormaa Ahenkro, serving as the home ground for Aduana Stars, it requires particular upgrades.

These venues must rectify the identified issues to attain full approval status.

Unapproved Venues:

Notably, some traditional venues have been disapproved for the upcoming season due to significant concerns:

  • Baba Yara Sports Stadium: The historic home of Asante Kotoko in Kumasi has been deemed unfit for use, primarily due to security issues and inadequate facilities.

  • University of Ghana Stadium: Used by Accra Hearts of Oak, this venue has been rejected for failing to meet the required standards.

The GFA has urged clubs associated with these venues to address the highlighted deficiencies promptly to ensure compliance with league standards.

Implications for Clubs:

Clubs whose home grounds have been conditionally approved or disapproved must take immediate action to rectify the identified issues. Failure to do so could result in the relocation of their home matches to alternative venues that meet the GFA's stringent requirements.

The GFA remains committed to ensuring that all GPL matches are played in safe and well-equipped environments, upholding the integrity and quality of Ghanaian football
