Elmina, Ghana – The JF ITHAND Firm Care Foundation has taken another significant step in its mission to empower young girls by donating menstrual hygiene kits to students of a basic school in Elmina.
The donation, which included sanitary pads, hygiene wipes, and educational materials, was made during a sensitization event focused on menstrual health management, stigma reduction, and promoting self-esteem among young girls.
In her address, a representative from the foundation emphasized the importance of menstrual health in keeping girls in school. “Many young girls miss classes because of inadequate access to sanitary products. We are here to support them, educate them, and remind them that their period should never be a reason to fall behind,” she said.
Teachers and community leaders present at the event applauded the foundation for its timely intervention, noting that such acts not only address immediate needs but also encourage open conversations about menstrual health — a topic still considered taboo in many parts of Ghana.
Students expressed gratitude for the support and called on other organizations to replicate similar efforts in schools across the country.
✅ Conclusion:
The JF ITHAND Firm Care Foundation continues to champion girls’ rights and education through initiatives like these. By tackling menstrual hygiene challenges, the foundation is paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable educational experience for Ghana’s young women.
