Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) is charting a renewed course towards operational efficiency and excellence under the leadership of its Managing Director, Dr. Yussif Sulemana, as it seeks to reposition itself as a key player in Ghana’s energy sector.
Tema, Ghana – The Managing Director of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Dr. Yussif Sulemana, has assured Ghanaians that the state-owned refinery is committed to a new era of operational efficiency and industrial excellence.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ engagement on Tuesday, Dr. Sulemana emphasized that his administration is focused on reforming TOR's systems, upgrading facilities, and creating a transparent and productive operational environment.
“TOR is not just back on its feet; we are running with a renewed sense of purpose. Our commitment is to build a refinery that Ghanaians can be proud of, one that operates with efficiency, transparency, and excellence,” he stated.
This pledge comes at a time when public interest in the refinery’s viability has grown, especially following years of operational challenges, financial setbacks, and calls for privatization.
Dr. Sulemana added that several strategic partnerships are being pursued to attract investment and improve TOR's refining capacity. "We are engaging key players in the industry to ensure that we can optimize our capacity and regain our position as a regional leader in petroleum refining," he added.
