The high-level meeting focused on key issues affecting students, including access to quality education, funding for tertiary institutions, and policies to enhance the overall learning experience in Ghana. Iddrisu emphasized the need for stronger government commitment to addressing challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, high tuition costs, and delays in student loan disbursements.

“Our education system must be restructured to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving world. Government must prioritize policies that ensure affordability, accessibility, and quality in both basic and higher education,” Iddrisu stated.

NUGS executives highlighted pressing concerns, including the need for increased scholarships, internship opportunities, and job placements for graduates. They also called for better engagement between policymakers and student leaders to create a more student-friendly educational environment.

As discussions on education reforms continue, stakeholders expect that this engagement will influence future policy directions and drive tangible improvements in Ghana’s education sector.
