Wa Circuit Court Jails 3 Robbery Suspects for a Total of 64 Years

The Wa Circuit Court has sentenced three individuals convicted of robbery-related offences to a total of 64 years in prison, underscoring the judiciary’s commitment to curbing violent crime in the Upper West Region.

One of the convicts, Adinan Mahmoud, also known as "Okra," aged 25, received an 18-year jail sentence with hard labour for his role in an armed robbery. The other two individuals were handed down sentences totalling 46 years, bringing the collective punishment to a cumulative 64 years

The defendants were found guilty of multiple counts related to violent robberies that terrorized communities within the region. In court, prosecutors outlined evidence linking them to a series of coordinated thefts targeting residents and businesses, often involving the use of weapons.

In passing such heavy sentences, the Wa Circuit Court aims to deliver a strong message to would-be offenders that armed robbery will be met with severe legal consequences. The move is being praised by local law enforcement as a critical step in restoring public confidence and enhancing community safety.

Residents have responded positively to the verdict, expressing relief and renewed trust in the legal system’s ability to protect citizens and deter crime.
